How to reach Kunja
We sit deep in the hills near Jageshwar Dham, in Almora district — and getting here is half the pleasure. Here's how to plan the journey, and what the roads are honestly like along the way.

The nearest airport is Pantnagar, down in the foothills. From there it's a long, scenic climb up into the Kumaon hills by road — a taxi is the simplest way up.
By rail
The nearest railhead is Kathgodam, the gateway to Kumaon, with overnight trains from Delhi. Taxis and shared cabs run up towards Almora and beyond from here.
By road
From Kathgodam, drive up through Bhowali and Almora towards Jageshwar. The final approach is on NH 109, and then our own village extension road to the gate.
