The Stay

The Goth (Cattle Shed)

The traditional goth — the old animal house, home to the cows, buffaloes and goats that are part of daily village life. A reminder that a real pahadi home still moves to the rhythm of its animals.

Back to The Camps

Every old pahadi home has its goth — the cattle shed where the animals live. Ours is home to cows, buffaloes and goats, just down from the house.

Children love feeding them and tagging along at milking time; it's where fresh milk, ghee and the everyday rhythm of village life begin. A small dairy is in the works.
